Insulation Services Photo Album: Air sealing & attic insulation, Harmony, PA

We were contacted by this home owner in Harmony, PA for uncomfortable attic temperatures which were too hot in the summer and very cold in winter.  Our solution was to remove and dispose of exisiting attic insulation, install layer of 4" SilverGlo attic deck, cover board and vertical retention dams and created a walkway/catwalk for attic.  We routed the bath fan duct to the gable end of attic and insulated along with covering all accessible penetrations and top plates using expanding polyurethan foam. We then air sealed and insulated with blown in Trusoft cellulose insulation.  We then installed new attic stairs with a 'David Lewis' hatch cover. The end result was a more climate comfortable attic and lower levels.
